Flexible Couplings
Eaton Aerospace Aurora has been engaged in the design, development and
manufacture of various types of fluid line connectors for over
40 years. Our flexible couplings, including
our GAMAHTM product line, have accumulated millions
of in-flight hours. By utilizing sophisticated computer-aided
design tools, Eaton Aerospace Aurora has mastered the ability to
quickly optimize new flexible coupling designs for merging
programs. We've invested in technology so that we can bring the
latest design and manufacturing methods to the industry; thus
enabling us to meet our customer's demanding price and delivery
requirements.
We offer flexible couplings for a variety of
aerospace, marine, and other vehicle applications. Each coupling
is designed and tested to ensure it will exceed the life of the
vehicle. Common uses include fuel, water, waste and
environmental control systems. Our couplings meet a variety of
application-specific requirements as well as industry (AS)
specifications, including SFAR-88 lightning requirements.

Threadless Clamshell Couplings

The threadless,
or clamshell coupling, has been an attractive flexible coupling
alternative for aircraft designers for many years. Eaton
Aerospace Aurora offers a complete line of clamshell couplings options
that allow engineers to optimize their
systems for weight and reliability. We continue to push the
state of the art by developing new couplings and
incorporating new features including very high conductivity
features and an innovative safety latch mechanism.
Our newest designs greatly enhance lightning compatibility
(SFAR-88) while at the same time reducing installation and
inspection times, thereby increasing overall system reliability.

Flexible couplings have proven to be a safe and highly reliable
means of attaching fluid-system tubes. Innovative GamahTM
couplings designs are being continuously produced for new
commercial and military applications. Today's aircraft designers
are looking for new alternatives to meet demanding weight,
functionality and cost requirements. In response, Eaton's
PositiveLokTM
coupling is a cost-competitive solution that significantly
reduces installation time and is lighter when compared to its
predecessors. The
PositiveLokTM coupling
provides the strength and reliability of a threaded coupling,
along with the easy installation of a quick disconnect. The
coupling provides an audible and tactile response to proper
installation. Final system inspection can be performed
remotely and without tools.

fluid systems. The Metal Seal coupling is superior to any modern
design in its sealing effectiveness and adaptability
to a broad spectrum of pressure, temperature and material
requirements. The Metal Seal coupling is used extensively
throughout the International Space Station and also on the
Trident II (D5) Fleet Ballistic Missile. |
